FOUNDER STORY

Doris Flores was raised in a home marked by generosity and compassion, developed a lifelong passion for creating meaningful celebrations that make others feel seen, valued, and loved. This is her story...

Doris Estrada Flores was born in Montebello, California, to Daniel and Helen Estrada and was raised in Whittier in a family of six. From an early age, her parents modeled a life of generosity and compassion. Their home was always open to others, especially children who might otherwise feel overlooked.

One of Doris’s earliest memories is watching her father host birthday parties for neighborhood children who had never had the opportunity to celebrate their special day. He would grill steaks, hang a piñata, and create a joyful celebration for them. Her mother would prepare the rest of the meal and bake beautiful cakes—often chocolate or vanilla with fresh strawberries.

As a young girl, Doris helped her mother prepare these celebrations, and over time she began organizing them herself. What began as helping her parents became a lifelong passion.

For Doris, the heart behind every celebration has always been the same: making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Having once been a shy child who struggled with fear and insecurity, she understands how meaningful it is when someone takes the time to make you feel special.

For more than 44 years, Doris has been creating celebrations for others—bringing joy to those who might otherwise go unnoticed.

Today, her mission has grown into a calling: to bring dignity, joy, and celebration to people who have endured difficult circumstances. Her heart is especially for:

Children who have never experienced a birthday celebration
Individuals experiencing homelessness
Foster children and orphans
Survivors of domestic violence
Women and girls rescued from human trafficking
Individuals who have survived tragedy or hardship

Through thoughtful celebrations and acts of compassion, Doris seeks to remind every person that they are worthy of joy, dignity, and love.
